I had the pleasure of meeting the duo behind STNDRDS MLA, Michaelo and Danee, about three weeks back for a friendly marketing consultation session. They told me the story of the brand, and how and where they would like to take it in the future.

STNDRDS is a new street wear clothing brand whose objective is to bring a customized, personalized batches of shirts for people who know (and want to be in the know of) the standard. Their designs are handpicked, and their shirts are made by batches so you know you’re not getting a design that a hundred other people have gotten.

Starting really intimate, their first customers are their friends. Just recently they’ve launched their facebook page here and are settling down real comfortably with their first batch already rolled out.

If you’re into street wear, you know that there have been inauthentic clothing brands popping up and penetrating the mainstream. STNDRDS MLA takes you back to the basics and lets you experience the rawness and cleverness that is genuine street wear, the way you want it, from the color of the shirt (plus the collar), the pocket shape, and even the kind of stitching you want.

They put in effort and passion to the work that goes into the production of the shirts and the development of the brand. On their Facebook page, they said that their “number one goal (is to) supply the right people with the right threads. Monetary gain comes second.” That and everything else they put in their info tab is outright true, knowing my close friend Danee.
